Overview
Residents in the ten partner neighborhoods can receive funding for just about any kind of project, as long as it strengthens the neighborhood and it is done by and for residents.
Overview of Strengthening Neighborhoods Grants
Strengthening Neighborhoods has two types of grants:
- Planning Grants which can be used to help plan and organize larger neighborhood projects. Planning Grants are up to $500 - average size is $250
- Project Grants which help residents undertake larger and more carefully planned projects that involve more residents and that occur over a longer period of time. Project Grants are up to $5,000 - average size is $2,500.
To apply:
First, read our Grant Guidelines.
If your project is ready to go, click on Project Grant, and complete your application (grant limit $5,000, average grant size $2,500)
If you are just starting to discuss your idea for a neighborhood project with others, and really need to develop your idea more, you may be eligible to apply for a planning grant to help you get started. To learn more, click on Planning Grant and complete the shorter application (grant limit $500, average grant size $300).
Then, click on Planning Grant to apply for a planning grant of up to $500 (average size $250).
Or click on Project Grant to apply for a larger project of up to $5,000 (average size $2,500).
