Skyland YMCA History Project

Video Documentation of Jazz Concert

To support the filming of a jazz concert kicking off the 2009 Skyland neighborhood celebration,, featuring local jazz legend Charlie Burrell, as the first step in documenting the history of the East Denver Y and its importance to the community.

The goal of the Skyland YMCA History Project is to create a video documentary of the history of the East Denver YMCA and its importance to the community. The video will be used as part of an effort to keep the former Y building as a community asset.

Voices on Canvas

Skyland Youth Community Action Plan

To support the Skyland Youth Community Action Plan, through which youth from the schools in Skyland will survey their peers and present an action plan for use of the former East Denver.

Voices on Canvas helps youth express themselves through an annual summer art contest and by organizing them to get involved in their community in positive ways.
